The show opens this week! Everything has come together well and we are ready to go. Come join us for this classic melodrama and you’ll even get to participate in the actual show. Throwing popcorn will be available and there will definitely be audience participation in this show. It will be a great time for the whole family. Ok, so, Yeah, I’ve gotten off to a very bad start. A LOT has been going on and I just forgot to post any updates. We have had a ton of shows, including our first independent Musical Review style show called Divas. We are currently in rehearsals for our 2010 Melodrama called Horse Scents by J. Mick Dunna. The Weekend after that is a Special Presentation by Jaston Williams of Greater Tuna fame. Please come and check it out.
Once again, I will endeavour to start making a post on a normal basis, but as history has showm, I am not good at that…

I know I’m getting off to a bad start with doing regular updates, but it’s been really intense lately. Between my last/first post and this one, we ran a show in association with Cal Collins Productions called “Broadway at the Baker”. The show was a Broadway Musical review that showcased different songs from popular shows such as Wizard of Oz, Annie, Oliver, Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables, Notre Dame de Paris, Beauty and the Beast, Prince of Egypt, and Phantom of the Opera. The show was incredible!!!! We were averaging 100-120 people per show!!!!!!! For those of you that come to our shows regularly, you know that is a huge audience. The show also featured 40 adults and youth from the San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Lockhart areas. All in all, it was a great show, a lot of fun, and we are expecting to do more work in the future with Cal.
Our next show is BoomTown by Jeff Daniels, running May 22 – June 6 with a Matinee on May 30. Please note that this performance is being rated NC-17 due to adult situations and strong language.

Welcome to the first post of the happenings in the Gaslight Baker Theatre’s Tech Booth. This is where I will try to send out updates on the current productions, projects, and upcoming events of the theater’s technical related items. I am using this blog as a way to let people know how things work in the backstage area for the show and mainly for my thoughts on things.
